title = "Integrating building blocks canvases with a design thinking process to create innovative solutions in wicked environments",
abstract = "This paper provides a proposed approach to integrate building block's canvases with the process of design thinking as a visual tool for managing wicked problems that place great emphasis on stakeholder engagement. First, the paper describes Meta organizations trends and the complex or wicked systems they create. Then, it describes the concept of wicked problems and its characteristics that require approaches other than the analytical approaches used in most design methodologies. After that, this paper presents design thinking as a promising approach to address complexity. Then, this paper explains the notion of the building blocks and canvases as a visual tool increasingly used in design businesses. We argue that these building blocks are generic and can be customized to address a specific business issue, or create new building blocks relevant to any problem domain. At the end, the paper will describe a proposed process framework to identify and choose the building blocks to create a canvas that matches a particular business challenge.",
