Abstract

In mobile consumer devices, today, one of the limiting factors behind efficiency is that of battery life. The challenge facing mobile consumer device designers is that the discovery phase of the routing process when attempting to establish a mobile ad hoc network tends to put the highest strain on the battery life of the device.
