Abstract

The study of magnetic and magnetotransport properties of nanoparticulate magnetite with different grain size was presented. The study was done by using x-ray diffraction, microscopy, magnetometry, and magnetoresistance measurements. It was found that magnetization was sensitive to preparation conditions and varied significantly with grain size. It was also found that magnetoresistance of pressed powder compacts in materials composed of small grain size magnetite particles prepared by coprecipitation was significantly enhanced.
