Research Interests

My research interests is mainly in computational mechanics with a focus on composite material, expandable tubular materials and swellable elastomers. Both analytical and finite element method are used to obtain solution of governing PDEs. Experimental investigation and constitutive modeling of expandable tubular materials at multi levels of material and mechanics helped us to discover useful insights that are highly valuable to oil and gas industry. Designed and built a state-of-the art test facility to determine the performance of expandable tubular and swellable elastomers. Lately, embarked on another project related to modeling of human femur bone using a modified Mori-Tanaka homogenization model as well as FGM (Functionally Graded Materials). The deformation and stress behavior was determined under side-way load originating from human fall or an accident. Next, the transient dynamic and steady behavior will be investigated with the inclusion of fracture model.
