ملخص

The air quality impact of oil field fires is studied to determine the exposure pollutants level in the major population centers. A mathematical model is used to compute ground-level concentration for pollutants generated by 558 burning oil wells. The results are presented as ground-level concentration isopleths. The results of computations are also supported by significant concentrations measured and reported by EPC, Kuwait. The ground-level concentrations of sulfur dioxide for the major population centers, were found to be less than the ambient standards based on the US EPA air pollution index. The spreading characteristics were classified according to the wind characteristics. -from Author
