ملخص

Spent catalysts are by-products which are produced from the cracking of petroleum in oil refineries to reduce the sulphur content and to improve the combustion properties of the oil. Large quantities of such materials are generated from Mina Al-Fahl and Sohar Refineries in Oman. Equilibrium catalyst (ECat) is generated at Mina Al-Fahl Refinery and Zeolite catalyst (ZCat) is generated at Sohar Refinery. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of using spent catalyst as a partial cement substitute on the properties of concrete. Cement replacement up to 10% by weight was examined by considering water-to-binder ratios (w/b) of 0.5 and 0.7.
