Abstract

A wideband metasurface based absorber is proposed for microwave electromagnetic energy harvesting. A unit cell of the metasurface consists of dodecagon shape with two vias to allow for ultrawideband reception response. The vias are connected to resistive loads to channel and dissipate the absorbed energy. Numerical simulation results show that the metasurface is capable of capturing the incoming microwave energy with a bandwidth of 10.7 GHz and efficiencies higher than 50%.
