Abstract

The use of time-frequency domain techniques to detect seizures in newborn babies are discussed. The method involves three steps. In the first step, features in the time frequency domain indicating seizure are identified. The second step involves building a number of time-frequency templates and in the third step the selected templates along with a time-frequency distribution were developed in order to discriminate between seizure and non-seizure. This type of detector has been implemented using a variety of different quadratic time-frequency distributions.
