Abstract

The field dependence of the hyperfine splittings of Tb159 in a single crystal of TbNi5 has been studied at liquid helium temperature by spin-echo NMR. The field, up to 8 tesla, was applied along the direction of easy magnetization of the crystal. Our measurements are in almost perfect agreement with computation based on the mean values of the crystal field parameters available in the literature for TbNi5.
