Abstract
A SO 4≈SU 2, I ×SU 2, G I symmetry is suggested for the classification of dinucleon {Mathematical expression} and {Mathematical expression} resonances. Transformation properties of bilinear nucleon fields under the SO 4-group have been used as a guide to assign hadrons to irreducible representations. Relevant consequences of the symmetry on hadron physics are discussed.
