Abstract

Internet of things is an emerging technology having the potential to improve the quality of different aspects of human life. Furthermore, integration of IoT with cloud computing has accelerated the wide range of applications in different areas such as commercial, manufacturing, engineering, supply chains, etc. Currently security threat obstacles the adoption of IoT technology in many areas. This paper presents the architecture of cloud assisted IoT applications for smart cities, telemedicine and intelligent transportation system. We investigate the security threats and attacks due to unauthorized access and misuse of information collected by IoT nodes and device. Further, we describe the possible countermeasure to these security attacks.
