note = "Funding Information: This issue compiles articles from Jordanian researchers to honor the scientific cooperation between the late Professor Wolfgang Voelter and Jordanian scientists that started in the early nineties. It culminated in a joint project, for which he was instrumental in obtaining the funds. The project was funded by the European Community [European Community/Jordan cooperation project in science and technology (SEM/03/628/033)] providing more than 2 million Euros. Through this project, a natural product laboratory was established at the chemistry department of the University of Jordan, which was equipped with a superconductor high-resolution 300 MHz FT-NMR spectrometer, a UV-visible scanning spectrophotometer, a gradient HPLC system with a preparative head kit, and a physiograph for the biology department. Several exchange visits of faculty members and technicians were accomplished during the project, and several papers were published as a result of this project. Numerous Jordanian scientists have co-authored more than 100 publications with Prof. Voelter. Many Jordanian students graduated from his lab at T{\"u}bingen University and were appointed as professors at prestigious universities. The University of Jordan honored Professor Voelter for his tremendous scientific and financial support. The cooperation initiated by Professor Wolfgang Voelter has continued after his sad passing. ",
