Abstract
Free convection in an electrically conducting fluid in a vertical channel under the action of an applied magnetic field has been discussed. The induced magnetic field has been included in the flow analysis. The equations describing the transport processes have been solved numerically. The effects of these processes, parameterized by a number of non-dimensional parameters have been discussed on the developing velocity and induced magnetic field profiles.
