Abstract

The purpose of this paper in to use the new results of adaptive control of linearizable systems in designing a nonlinear adaptive regulator for a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus. The novel design of such a regulator is based on the differential-geometric concepts for the control of nonlinear systems. A proper selection of physical outputs provides, via static -feedback, an exact state linearization and input-output decoupling of the closed-loop system. However, in the presence of parameter uncertainties, a parameters identification scheme is incorporated in the nonlinear state-feedback control law to make the cancellation of the nonlinear terms more exact.
