Abstract

Disasters may occur at anytime anywhere in the world. For early and effective response, various telemedicine applications have been studied and utilized to enhance medical response in disaster. Based on lessons learnt from previous disasters, present telemedicine applications are improving telemedicine disaster outcomes. "Mobile Telemedicine package" is considered an appropriate entity catering for various disastrous cases. We have developed a small and light "Mobile Telemedicine Package" using mobile satellite and wireless LAN communications and can be carried and transported easily by vehicles, boats and aircrafts to disaster stricken areas. We will also take a glimpse at issues related to standardizing telemedicine package.
