Abstract

Favorable initial results were experienced in the rejuvenation of the Yibal Shuaiba field in Oman by means of horizontal wells. Technological trials resulted in improved production and recovery, optimized water injection and enhanced safety and environmental protection. This prompted a complete turn to horizontal production wells coupled with a change in approach for further development of the field.
