Abstract

Nine species of the subfamily Cyprinotinae are recorded from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Two species are new records for the region and one species is described as new. The type specimens of four species were examined and lectotypes were designated wherever necessary. Redescriptions, illustrations and remarks are given for all the known species of the subfamily.
