Abstract

The flipped model of instruction has recently gained worldwide popularity, especially among EFL educators. It is argued that the implementation of the flipped instructional approach results in several learning gains. On the other hand, if not carefully designed, flipped instruction could have debilitating effects. The presentation aims to shed light on the challenges students in a flipped classroom may face, with a particular focus on the major design principles of a successful flipped class. Therefore, not only EFL educators but also teacher trainers, prospective teachers, as well as students will find it beneficial.
