Five-phase PWM current source rectifier

Abstract

This paper introduces multiphase PWM current source rectifier (CSR). This rectifier is suitable for wind energy or micro turbine applications which have multiphase generators with no need for electric gear such as low frequency transformer. As a case study, medium voltage (MV) five-phase PWM current source rectifier (CSR) with controlled dc-link current is introduced. MATLAB/SIMULINK platform is used as a simulation tool.
