Abstract

It is shown that computer simulations of the scatter plate interferometer using scalar diffraction theory can be succesfully performed, and the results of the computer simulations agree quantitatively and qualitatively with the experimental results from a comparable interferometer of the same dimensions. The results support the usefulness of the computer simulation method in designing and supplementing interferometric experiments.
