Abstract

The history of cities around the world tells us that many environmental problems could have been avoided through better thought at the planning phases. The present paper considers the issues of overpopulation, construction expansion, urbanization, and industrial boom and expansion. Examples of developments in Kuwait are cited, focusing more on the repercussion of the industrial development. The paper will focus on the need for maintaining the sustainability of the environment and reflecting the significance of environmental considerations, precautions and measures that could be taken at the planning stage.
