Abstract

In this investigation, the hybrid-mode solution for shielded finline/strip configuration on an anisotropic substrate, is presented through an improved analysis. In particular, the metallization thickness of the fins as well as that of the side wall grooves depth are taken into account, that were disregarded in many published treatments. Furthermore, the fins may be either isolated from the metallic housing at DC, or directly connected to the housing. The method of lines (MoL) is principally used to analyse the considered structure, by adopting the non equidistant discretization scheme to perform accurate data. The frequency dependent characteristics are then derived for different structural parameters. Corollary the effect of finite metal thickness likewise the side wall grooves are discussed from the achieved results.
