FIFA is a global football organization, governed by a set of members from various countries. Hosting FIFA World Cup is considered as a huge honor and pride. In addition to the pride, hosting a mega-event like FIFA will uplift the nation economically. The main objectives of this article are to assess the economic impacts of hosting FIFA World Cup. The article also attempts to study the host nation of 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar and its preparation for the world cup. The investigation considered the last three FIFA World Cups and analyzed the positive and negative impacts of FIFA on each host nation. Various research articles have been used for the purpose of the study. From the analysis, we observed that hosting the FIFA world cup gives a positive overall impression on the nation. The stadiums that are built for billions are left behind at times and some are even used as parking lots. Hence, the economic ramifications of FIFA would be mostly positive when the government has a prior in depth financial analysis.
