Abstract

We present the results of calculations of the density profiles and surface tension at the liquid-vapour interfaces of a model liquid binary alloy. The components of the model binary alloy interact via square-well potentials, but it is assumed that the system does not satisfy Berthelot's rule. The calculations are based on the density functional theory of inhomogeneous systems and the Bhatia-Young model for the bulk properties of liquid mixtures.
