Abstract

In this paper, a finite element computer model was built to compute the capacitive coupling component produced on unburied pipeline installed nearby AC power transmission lines. Moreover, an experimental reduced-scale rig was also built to verify the computer modeling approach. A good correlation between the experimental and software based simulated results is obtained which validates the modeling approach of coupling between power transmission line and unburied pipeline.
