Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate comparative performance analysis of microjet impingement cooling models with different spent-flow schemes. The effectiveness of the three multijet configurations was compared at a wide range of Reynolds numbers under laminar flow conditions. The distribution of inlet jets was kept same for all, whereas spent flow treatment was modified. In a wall-confined spent-flow design, the spent fluid was confined through the sidewalls and an outlet port was provided at one of the sidewalls of the heat sink. A three-dimensional numerical analysis was performed for fluid flow and conjugate heat transfer for all the three spent-flow schemes.
