Abstract

Today we are witnessing a third wave of the manifestations of the digital
revolution, the big data revolution. After the wave of introducing digital documents to companies and the internet wave that completely changed the way of companies work and with the publication of blogs and portals, e-commerce, and social and mobility networks, we live in an era characterized by a quantitative (and often repeated) explosion of digital data. These "data" come from various sources, so large and vast that they go beyond the human capabilities of analysis and even those of traditional computer tools for managing databases or information (Fernandez, 2017).
This quantity is increasing more with the Internet of things: there will be more things and more beings than people connected to the Internet. We estimate (Charaudeau, 2015) to reach 80 billion connected objects by 2020.
In this context, we face problems related to accurate and reliable management,
maintenance and archiving of these large amounts of data for operational and
organizational reasons, which is the primary goal in controlling content through
digitization, archiving, electronic document management and information
management. In this article, we suggest introducing the evolutionary path of
documentary collections in terms of size, variety, speed, value, and speed. We also provide a conceptual model for the requirements of digital transformation to enable the processing, management and archiving of these types of data by stimulating the relationship between Big Data, Cloud computing, Blockchain and other new tools for smart data processing. We also wonder about the role of the archive in the midst of these major transformations and about the concept of archiving per se at a time when data has always become active and subject to processing.
