Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the different anomalies of the muscles of the sole of the foot. Design: A cadaveric study. Materials and Methods: 32 cadavers were dissected in the Department of Anatomy, over a span of 3 years. All the muscles of the different layers of the sole of the foot were dissected and the anomalies were noted. Result: Anomalous Flexor Digitorum Accessorius (FDA) were noted on both sides, in a 62 year old female cadaver. Conclusion: The main purpose of this research article is to report the anomaly of the FDA, which warrants adequate attention by the podiatric medical practitioners and surgeons operating on the foot, especially while carrying out reconstructive procedures.
