Abstract
The dilute surfactant injection and waterflooding schemes for the Yibal field, Oman, were studied. Twelve different surfactants available in the market were tested at different concentrations. The average waterflooding recovery was found to be 75.1% of OOIP and surfactant injection resulted an average 69.9% of OOIP. Results show that for the untouched fractured zones of the chalky reservoir, surfactant addition injection is preferred over waterflooding scheme.
