Abstract

The title compound, [Si(CH₃)₃(C₁₄H ₈N)] is a TMS-protected mono-alkyne. It is used as a model species for platinum σ-acetylide compounds of which it is a precursor. Such compounds are of interest due to the extended π-conjugation through the hetero-aromatic linker unit in the backbone.
