Abstract
The study aimed to explore the relationship between the scores acquired by the physical education major students in the compulsory physical aptitude tests and their academic achievement during the years of study in the Department of Physical Education.
The sample consisted of 90 students whereas comparisons between their scores in physical aptitude tests, and their general GPA, and selected practical courses have been measured.
The results of the study indicated that no relationship between the students’ scores in the aptitude tests and their levels of academic performance during their study in the Department of Physical Education.
The study recommended that the current physical aptitude tests to be modified and emphasize on motor educability tests.
