Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the development of creative thinking by
science teachers and its reflections on the creativity of their students’ portfolios.
The sample consisted of (20) science teachers in grades 5-9 in Oman. Data were
collected using classroom observation checklists and analyzing 60 students’
portfolios. Results showed that teachers’ level of enhancing the development of
creative thinking was average. In addition, science teachers’ high-level-practice
of the development of creative thinking significantly enhanced the flexibility
and originality of the content of the portfolios. However, there was no effect on
the fluency aspect of the portfolios.
