Wastewater Treatment and Reuse at A " Saffa Poultry Farm at Thamrait

Project: Other project

Project Details

Description

The existing wastewater (1200 m3/day) situation A?Saffa Poultry farm/plant needs immediate attention. Considering that the plant is going for expansion it is likely that the situation will worsen if left as it is which will impair the great image of the company. Although, a standard solution of the present situation will be to install an activated sludge Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 1500 m3/day, we believe that before the company decides on a particular solution, it should consider other possible innovative/cost effective solutions. We at SQU have experimented with different types of alternative wastewater treatment systems. These are of physical, chemical and biological in nature. Some of these may be applicable for this poultry farm. We believe that we can provide innovative and cheaper solution(s). However, experimental studies are needed due to the particular nature of the produced wastewater. The main objective is devising appropriate treatment systems for the treatment and reuse of wastewater generated at the poultry farm in an environmental friendly manner which will be economically attractive.
