Digital Shearography System Using Digital Still Camera

Project: Other project

Project Details

Description

We propose to construct a versatile digital shearography system consisting of a Michelson interferometer with a shearing device, which uses a high-resolution digital still camera to efficiently capture high-resolution specked interferograms. The system will combine optical interferometric techniques with digital imaging methods to make microscopic measurements of strain fields. We propose to use this method to many applications, including full-field strain measurements and nondestructive testing of composites and metallic objects. This, to the best of our knowledge, will be the first speckle interferometer or shearography system constructed in Oman. and nbsp; and nbsp; and nbsp;
