Project Details
Description
This project aims to explore issues related to integrating immersive BIM-based virtual reality in Architectural Engineering practices. The project builds on previous research projects which have focused on selecting and implementing appropriate BIM-based virtual reality strategies and technologies, as well as exploring the pedagogical benefits of integration into the professional practice.
The project aim could be achieved through the following objectives:
• To investigate challenges, perceived benefits of and barriers to the use of BIM-based virtual reality in Architectural Engineering practices.
• To identify technologies for BIM-based virtual reality that could be integrated into Architectural Engineering practices.
• To develop a VR-embedded BIM immersive workflow to enable collaboration and design review for Architecture, Engineering and Construction practices.
