Description

In this study, GCC and Oman's public diplomacy levels and techniques will be studied. Perhaps one of the most important deficiencies in GCC diplomacy is not using new tools in international diplomacy. Public diplomacy has changed dramatically especially after the new world order in 1991. Developed countries now use it very effectively and gain the minds and hearts worldwide. GCC and Oman need to be seen by the world public opinion also positively. Unfortunately, it cannot be claimed that GCC and Oman are known perfectly by the world public opinion. Today, the range of phenomena that could be used as new tools of public diplomacy has grown. Some of the new instruments in the new millennium could be highlighted as diaspora, international conferences, scholarships, journals, advertorials, towering personalities, sport, dominant culture, relations with Intergovernmental institutions, focus on international civil society groups, news agencies, social media tools, cultural centers, universal kitchen, music and exchange programs, in addition to the older ones. In this study, a survey will be conducted in more than 20 countries and GCC and Oman's images and public diplomacy levels will be indicated in practice. Then rhetoric will be implemented in practice for Oman and GCC Public diplomacy and then, the ideal level will be found. At the end of the study, policy alternatives will be submitted to reach to ideal public diplomacy level for the GCC countries and Oman separately. Potentially workshops will be held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This study will give birth to at least 1 article, 1 conference paper, 2 workshops, 1 seminar, and 1 media interview. Those will fill up the gap and lack of this topic and help the scholastic literature especially for the Arabian Gulf and Oman. It will also help to develop reciprocal relations and especially state and foreign public relations of the Gulf and Oman.
