Research interests

Dr. Sanket Joshi is currently working as Application Specialist, Oil & Gas Sciences, Central Analytical and Applied Research Unit, Sultan Qaboos University. Prior to which he worked under various positions at Sultan Qaboos University, as PostDoctoral Researcher; teaching in Universities in India; and in industries, Research & Development departments in India. His current research area of interests are:  1). Energy and Environment: Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (surfactants, polymers, Alkaline:Surfactant:Polymer - ASP, and Deep Eutectic Solvents); Microbial enhanced light/heavy oil recovery- in-situ/ex-situ MEOR (Biosurfactants, Biopolymers, Biomass, Microbial Permeability Profile Modification), Petroleum and Environmental Biotechnology: extremophiles for oil pollution bioremediation; Analysis, mitigation and control of souring by Sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) and role in H2S production; Environmental bioremediation for Partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) contaminated sites (2). Microbial fermentations: Research and Development for novel microbial byproducts and scale-up to industrial level; Application of Statistical tools for media, and other parametric process optimization. (3). Green nanoparticles synthesis using plant and microbial byproducts and applications. He have fifty nine published papers in internationally reputed journals, more than fifty conference papers, and serving as peer reviewer in highly reputed international journals.
