The course provides knowledge about the fate of contaminates in the environment within a single medium and between media. The course will emphasize on contaminant dispersion within air, soil, and water (surface water, and groundwater). For some applications, students will be taught to identify the dominant transport mechanisms, develop the appropriate equations that quantify the mechanisms, and simplify the system to arrive at solutions that are appropriate.
