Advanced Engineering Statistics (ENGR6910)

Course

Description

Objectives: Introduce statistical concepts to students, theory and methods used in experimentation and testing of processes and systems to minimize the effects of external and internal sources of variability and thereby optimizing process/system performance. Special attention will be given to the development and design processes in engineering to ensure the selection of the best possible alternative design. Description: Data description and management; the normal distribution; random samples and sampling distributions; points and confidence interval estimation; test of hypothesis; single and multiple factors experimental design and analysis; simple and multiple regression analysis and correlation; analysis of variance; non-parametric statistics; and computer applications in statistical analysis (use of statistical software package)
