Two-Equation Turbulence Modeling of Boundary Layers under Wave--Current Combined Motion

ملخص

Waves and currents coexist in the coastal environments. The analytical models used to analyze wave-current boundary layers assumed different variations of the cross-stream eddy viscosity and were useful for general understanding of the boundary layers properties. With the availability of efficient computational resources the use of numerical models has considerably increased. For wave-current combined motion, the capabilities of two-equation turbulence models are not fully explored as yet. The present study is carried out to examine the applicability of three versions of low Reynolds number k-ε model to one-dimensional wave-current collinear motion. The governing equations were solved using a Crank-Nicolson type implicit scheme. The details about the model equations and numerical method is shown by Sana et. Al. (2007).
