The effects of internet and mobile experiences on mobile learning acceptance in higher education

Mobile devices and applications with Internet capabilities have improved the convenience of information accessing for community of higher education learners. The learners and instructors acceptance of mobile learning is critical to the successful adoption of mobile learning therefore it is important to understand the factors that affect learners' intentions to accept mobile learning. From technology acceptance perspective, this research investigates the effect of learner's internet and mobile experiences on mobile learning acceptance in Higher education of Oman and other Arab Gulf Region. This study focused on how the level of internet and mobile experiences might influence learners' mobile learning acceptance to create a personalized learning experience in different higher education providers. The study has been conducted for 4 months from 17 different Omani higher education institutes to analyze and evaluate the relation between learners' internet and mobile experiences and mobile learning acceptance. The results of total 806 learners and instructors participated in this research showed Internet and mobile experiences have positive impact on learners and instructors' willingness and acceptance of mobile learning in different higher education providers. The effort is part of Omani-funded research project investigating the development, adoption and dissemination of mobile learning in Oman.
