ملخص

The study tries to estimate the trade potentials might be raised by comparing the current maritime route of One Belt One Road initiative and new maritime route in particular with the China-Pakistan Corridor as a result of the changing freight costs, shipping period and distance between European Union (EU), Middle East, North African countries (MENA) and China. To estimate trade potentials, qualitative and descriptive statistical methods will be used to compare the real and predicted trade. The results reveal that China and the EU, MENA can increase trade potentials and show that average predicted freight costs, shipping period and distance between China and EU are decreased by $1,545, 16.3 days and 10,084 km respectively, and the average predicted freight costs, shipping period and distance between China and the MENA are decreased by $1,695, 17.2 days and 10,477 km respectively.
