N2 - Citrus limetta is an evergreen small tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. It is cultivated all over the world and is used as a fresh fruit, as a source of juice, yields essential oil, and is used as traditional medicine due to its bioactive components. The bioactive components include flavonoids, limonoids, calcium, potassium, and a low content of fat and dietary fibers. It is an important source of essential oil that ultimately finds several applications. C. limetta find uses in food industries, in pharmaceuticals, in perfumery, in bioadsorption of industrial wastes, in industrial synthesis of enzymes, as insect repellent, and more.
