Laboratoires Biocodex is developing soretolide (D-2916) as a potential treatment for epilepsy. It is currently in phase II trials. In animal models, soretolide shows an anticonvulsant profile similar to carbamazepine, being active in the maximal electroshock test and poorly active against pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures.
