ملخص

This chapter provides a detailed discussion about recent advancements in the engineering of skin healing/repairing using nanotextiles. Designing and development of different biopolymers-based nanofibers with a wide range of bioactive agents, such as metal nanoparticles, antibiotics, herbal components, essential oils, and growth factors, have been discussed in detail. Initially, we have to briefly mention the exact mechanism involved in the regrowth of healthy skin with scar-less healing process. Different models of nanomaterials, i.e., monolayered, bilayered, trilayered nanostructures, blend electrospun, layer-by-layer nanomats have been discussed with regard to their physical and chemical properties. In addition, in vivo and in vitro studies of the materials have been briefly discussed, and the chapter has been concluded with investigation of the efficacy of the materials for wound healing, suture, skin tissue engineering, and regeneration application.
