ملخص
In this paper, we analyze a large corpus of slips of the tongue in Arabic in an attempt to delineate their major linguistic properties. The slips considered for this study are classified into a number of categories according to the nature of the errors and units involved, i.e., whole-word substitution or segment substitution. The findings of this study are, then, related to the various theoretical issues concerning the reality of phonetic features and segments, syllabic units, words, the underlying representation of morphemes, and the semantic properties in speech production.
