N2 - Adjacent parallel transmission lines raise more challenges to distance relaying because of mutual coupling effect between lines. This paper aims to study the distance protection influencing quantities because of parallel line connection. The benefit of this study is to recommend protection setting of electricity network distance protection strategy. Simulation is carried out using 'DigSailent PowerFactory' program. As a special case, the effect of parallel line is taken into account the effect of mutual coupling of the parallel line has been modeled and simulated with current and voltage signals available from one end.
