N2 - Behavioral and psychiatric abnormalities in Wilson's disease (WD) have a variable frequency and spectrum. This study involved evaluation of the psychiatric comorbidities in patients of Wilson's disease, using structured clinical interview for DSM-IV Axis-I disorders (SCID). Among the 50 confirmed patients with Wilson's disease recruited for this study, 12 patients (24%) fulfilled the diagnostic criteria for syndromic psychiatric diagnosis: bipolar affective disorder (18%), major depression (4%), and dysthymia (2%). Formal assessment of psychopathology in all patients with Wilson's disease may have therapeutic significance.
