ملخص
A novel reactor-heat exchanger system has been proposed and simulated for the use of hydrogen in an internal combustion engine based on methylcyclohexane-toluene-hydrogen (MTH) system. A 1200. cc engine capable of producing 66.2. kW is chosen and the performance of the prototype system is studied for a hybrid MTH-gasoline system. The effects of parameters such as flow direction (cocurrent and countercurrent), inlet exhaust gas temperature, number and size of catalyst tubes, number of fins, catalyst activity and catalyst deactivation, and an appropriate material of construction (MoC) are studied in order to find out the best combination of design and operation of the prototype. Moreover, dynamic modeling of the system is carried out to estimate the time required for the cold startup of the hybrid MTH-gasoline system.
