ملخص

One of the problems facing Road Maintenance Engineers is how to determine a rehabilitation plan that best suits certain budget schemes/constraints. This paper presents a simplified framework for determining the required rehabilitation and implementation priority on typical highway segments. The integration of the procedure is demonstrated through a step-by-step building process. Typical data including available history of the road are discussed, and a program for acquisition of additional field data is prepared. Methods of data collection and analyses and the approach for design and analysis of rehabilitation is summarized. Economic evaluation is also considered. The proposed system was successfully applied to segments of Route no. 23 in Sultanate of Oman. In this application, a variety of field surveys and tests were performed to assess the functional performance and structural capacity of the existing pavement Finally, the paper concludes with general findings and advantages of the system application to the real-life problem.
